HORI7ON (호라이즌; read as Horizon) is a seven-member Filipino boy group under MLD Entertainment. Formed through ABS-CBN's idol reality-survival show Dream Maker, they released their pre-debut single "Dash" on March 22, 2023 before officially debuting in July 24, 2023 with their first full-length album Friend-SHIP.
The group name 'HORI7ON' shows how the dreams of 7 boys started from the same starting point and are now gathered together in one spot towards the same goal.
Career[]
2023: Dream Maker and pre-debut[]
On September 5, 2022, MLD Entertainment, KAMP Global and ABS-CBN announced that they will form a seven-member Filipino boy group that will debut in South Korea under MLD Entertainment and KAMP Korea[3] through the idol survival show, Dream Maker premiered on November 19, 2022.[4]
Dream Maker premiered on November 19, 2022, while the live finale was broadcasted on February 12, 2023, with the boys who ranked in the top seven to debut in the show's product group HORI7ON. During the finale, seven different contestants were revealed to make their debut; Jeromy ranked first overall, presumably becoming the group's future center, Marcus ranked second overall, Kyler ranked third, Vinci ranked fourth, Reyster ranked fifth, Kim ranked sixth, and finally, Winston ranked seventh overall and was the last contestant revealed to debut.[5]
The following day, it was reported that MLD Entertainment plans to conduct broadcasting activities, school attacks, and mall tours in the Philippines until March, and after training and making an album in Korea, they intend to debut in South Korea in mid-June.[6] On February 17, the group officially opened their Official SNS.[7]
On February 28, their first pre-debut group photo was released.[8] On the same day, the group announced their first mall show at Robinson Mall Lipa that was held on March 4 and Robinson Mall Dasmariñas that was held on March 5.[9]
On March 10, the group released an MV teaser for their pre-debut single, "DASH".[10]
On March 17, the group officially released their first group logo.[11] On the same day, the group announced that their pre-debut single, DASH was released on March 22.[12]
On March 30, the group attended the first-ever Star Magical Prom, and later released their second pre-debut single "Salamat" on April 5, 2023.
The group held its first fan meeting on April 22, 2023, at the New Frontier Theater. During the fanmeeting event, the group's fandom name, 'ANCHOR', was revealed.[1][13]
On April 30, the group flew to South Korea to begin training for their upcoming debut in 2023. Meanwhile, only Reyster was left as a member in the Philippines, because his visa to South Korea was not approved.[14]
On May 22, the group announced through their Official SNS, that they will be releasing their third pre-debut single, "Lovey Dovey" on May 31. Prior to the song's release, the group performed the said single with BINI on the finale of "Dream Maker".[15][16]
2023: Debut with Friend-SHIP[]
On July 4, 2023, MLD Entertainment announced the group's debut with the release of their first full-length album Friend-SHIP on July 24.[17]
